After chairing the first meeting with members of the selection committee for a Lokayukta today, Rawat told reporters that Justice Irshad Hussain has been named as the fifth member of the panel and its next meeting will be held soon.
Apart from Rawat, Speaker of Uttarakhand Assembly Govind Singh Kunjwal, Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Ajay Bhatt, Justice of Uttarakhand High Court V K Bisht and Chief Secretary Shatrughna Singh took part in today's meeting.
After intervention of the Supreme Court in appointment of a Lokayukta in Uttar Pradesh last month, Chief Minister Harish Rawathad expressed his desire for speedy appointmentof a Lokayukta in Uttarakhand.
