Amid reports that a big chunk of tourists have shelved plans to visit Kashmir Valley due to rains, NC leader Omar Abdullah has taken to microblogging site twitter to tempt people into visiting the region saying "look no further than Kashmir".
Omar, with over 8,70,000 followers on the microblogging site, has been trying his best to attract people to visit Kashmir.
"The worst of the water logging is behind us & the fear of floods has been dispelled by the government. Please come visit Kashmir in the spring," Omar wrote on twitter today.
To attract tourists to visit the famous tourists destinations including Gulmarg and Pahalgam, Omar wrote,"The tulips will soon be in bloom & the Valley is the most gorgeous green, Gulmarg still has snow & the Lidder is roaring in Pahalgam."
Omar made an appeal to the people who are looking to spend a holiday and also said that the entire Kashmir was waiting for them.
"So if you are looking for a holiday or even a short break look no further than Kashmir. Everyone here is waiting to welcome you," he wrote.
Omar also posted a picture of the tulip garden of Srinagar with fresh blooming tulips. "Tulips in Srinagar beginning to bloom. It's a 1 hr flight from Delhi so why wait!" he wrote.
Omar has shown concern over the reports that tourists were cancelling their bookings in the anticipation of the floods in Kashmir.
The former chief minister had earlier appealed to the tourists not to cancel their bookings and instead wait for the development. "Those of you with bookings to visit Kashmir please PLEASE don't rush to cancel. Instead I request you to wait and see how things develop," he wrote on March 31.
"The tourist industry had a disastrous Autumn & a really bad winter because of the floods. Finally things were looking up in April," he wrote.
