The area is situated 560km from Visakhapatnam and it may result in rains, high speed winds and gales in the sea in the next 48 hours, District Collector Neetu Prasad said, quoting the weather office and a bulletin from Hyderabad-based Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services.
The district administration, including revenue and police department officials, have been put on alert, she said in a release said here.
She advised fishermen not to venture into the sea and directed officials concerned to set up control rooms at vulnerable places.
