Lower hills of Himachal Pradesh experience scorching heat

The lower hills of Himachal Pradesh reeled under scorching heat with Una recording a high of 41.2 degrees Celsius while the mercury rose to 27 degrees Celsius in the state capital.
The local MeT office has warned of severe heat wave in the lower hills tomorrow and the day after and rains or thundershowers in mid and higher hills from April 20.
Kalpa in tribal Kinnaur district recorded a high of 23.8 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal while maximum temperatures at most places in the state stayed above 31 degrees Celsius.
Sundernagar recorded a high of 36.7 degrees Celsius followed by Bhuntar 34.7 degrees Celsius, Nahan 33.9 degrees Celsius, Solan 32.8 degrees Celsius and Dharamsala 31.4 degrees Celsius.
Minimum temperatures also maintained a rising trend with Kalpa and Manali recording a low of 7.6 degrees Celsius and 8.8 degrees Celsius respectively, followed by Bhuntar 10.5 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 13.0 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 13.6 degrees Celsius and Solan 15.2 degrees Celsius.
