At least 50 women activists of BJP here have been booked on the charge of violating the Model Code of Conduct.
The members of BJP's women wing took out a rally in support of party's candidate for Muzaffarnagar assembly by-poll last evening without taking permission from the authorities concerned. A case has been lodged against them, Sub-Inspector of Kotwali police station Tarik Waseem said.
Meanwhile, some Congress workers were booked for violating the election code for taking out a procession on bikes in absence of permission from competent authority, police said.
The by-polls in the constituency are slated for February 13.
