The Anti-Terrorism Squad has arrested eight Bangladeshi nationals for living in the country without valid documents, officials said.
Acting on a tip-off, the Nagpada unit of the ATS raided places in suburban Malwani and Kandivali and arrested these persons last night.
Officials said that the eight, who were employed at an electronics assembling shop here run by a resident of 24 Parganas district in West Bengal, had confessed that they were Bangladeshi nationals.
"They are residents of Jessore district in Bangladesh. Two had even managed to procure PAN cards. They have been arrested under relevant sections of the Passport Rules and Foreigners Act. Further investigations are underway," the official said.
