The head of a cooperative sugar factory here allegedly committed suicide Monday afternoon by shooting himself with a revolver, police said.
Pradip Nimbalkar, who was elected chairperson of Shri Chhatrapati Cooperative Sugar Factory on October 31, was declared dead on arrival after being rushed with a bullet injury from his residence in Sansar area of Indapur tehsil here to a hospital in Baramati, an official said.
The official said that a suicide note, which was yet to be verified, had been found at the scene of incident.
"The incident took place around 2.30 pm on Monday at his residence. Upon hearing a bullet shot, family members ran towards a first floor room in the house and found Nimbalkar in a pool of blood," the official said.
