Mahakumbabhishekam performed at Nataraja temple

Thousands of devotees witnessed the Mahakumbabhishekam (consecration) of Sri Nataraja Temple here today.
The Mahakumbabhishekam is being performed after a gap of 27 years.
Special poojas and homams were performed at the temple from April 22 as part of the Mahakumbabhishekam, temple chief priest Sarveswara Dikshidar told PTI.
The Mahakumbabhishekam lasted for about an hour from 7.30 am today and those who witnessed it included Sri Lankan Minister T M Swaminathan and Kanchi seers Jayendra Saraswathi and Vijayendra Saraswathi.
