As a part of the pilot project, Pune and Parbhani districts have been selected to undertake the measurement of Wakf Board's land with the help of local revenue officers.
The total cost of the pilot project is Rs 2 crore, of which Rs 1.08 crore was sanctioned for release, according to a Government Resolution (GR) issued today.
The Government has given a period of six months for commencement of the measurement drive, the GR stated.
The State Cabinet on November 15 had approved the land measurement decision and the GR is a follow-up action.
The Government in December last year had asked District Collectors concerned to remove names of individuals from records of land owned by local Wakf Boards.
The drive is being undertaken to avoid any further misuse of Wakf land by individuals.
