Maharashtra Scooters logs Rs 47.65 crore quarterly profit

Maharashtra Scooters today reported a net profit of Rs 47.65 crore in the three months ended September 2014.
The firm had a net profit of Rs 43.63 crore in the same period a year ago.
In a regulatory filing, the company said it had an "other income" of Rs 50.94 crore in the latest September quarter.
"During the quarter Rs 4,772 lakh was received as equity shares as against nil in first quarter and Rs 4,236 lakhs in second quarter of previous year," the filing said.
However, income from operations was just Rs 1.73 crore in the 2014 September quarter.
The company is into manufacturing of casting dies, jigs and fixtures mainly for two and three-wheeler industry.
Shares of the company rose nearly three per cent to Rs 918.75 on the BSE.
