Two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali will guest star in the second season of Hulu comedy "Ramy".
The show, created by Ramy Youssef, Ari Katcher and Ryan Welch, is about a first-generation American Muslim who is on a spiritual journey in his politically divided New Jersey neighbourhood.
Youssef also plays the lead role in the series, which explores the challenges of what it is like being caught between an Egyptian community that thinks life is a moral test, and a Millennial generation that thinks life has no consequences.
According to Variety, Ali will have a "special guest star role" in the second season, which is expected to premiere in 2020. The actor is a "huge fan" of the series.
The 45-year-old actor, who most recently starred in the third season of "True Detective", was last week announced as the lead star for a new "Blade" movie by the Marvel Studios.
