Mahindra First Choice Service (MFCS), India's leading chain of multi-brand car service workshops, today said it plans to invest Rs 250 crores to set up 1,200 workshops in next five years, including Jammu.
"We will set up 1,200 workshops across the country in next five years with an investment of Rs 250 crores," Head Marketing & Franchise Business - MFCS- Alok Kapoor told reporters here today.
As many as 600 such workshops would be set up by 2017, he said.
MFCS, with a national network comprising 79 workshops across more than 60 cities, also announced that it plans to expand its footprint in Jammu.
"MFCS's growth plans for the state envisage 12 new workshops in Jammu by March 2016," Kapoor said.
The company envisions great potential for the multi-brand car servicing business in Jammu and invites applications from various interested parties, he said.
Kapoor said that MFCS has received encouraging response in Punjab, H.P. And Haryana and has already appointed franchisees there.
"We are delighted to further expand our network in Jammu which is a strategic market for MFCS. Our business model for franchisees, especially our spare parts management model has received a strong response and we are in the process of expanding this model across the country," he said.
MFCS, the fully-owned subsidiary of the USD 16.9 billion Mahindra Group, has expanded its network rapidly in the past one year through Franchisee Owned Franchisee Operated (FOFO) workshops. As on August 31, 2015, the company had 79 workshops in 14 states, Kapoor said.
He said : "Till recently, the Rs 20,000 crore plus car servicing industry was almost equally divided between OEM dealers and independent garages".
