Maid found hanging in excise officer's house

A 35-year-old domestic help was found hanging at the residence of a Central Excise officer here this morning, police said.
Kavita was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the residence of Ramesh Kumar, a Superintendent in the Central Excise, in Lajpat Nagar area here, they said.
Kavita, a mother of two, had been working at Ramesh's house for seven years, police said.
Ramesh, posted at Meerut, had gone to Allahabad to meet his wife and son on Friday.
Before leaving, he handed over keys of the house to Kavita, police said.
Ramesh told police when he returned home this morning, he found the main gate locked from inside.

He knocked at the door several times but there was no response, police said.

He then called up police and the gate was forcefully opened.
On entering the house, police found Kavita's body hanging from the ceiling fan in the bedroom.
Kavita's husband Rajesh Kumar told police she was missing from the house for the past three days but a complaint was not lodged in this regard.
Police said they were investigating the case from all angles.
Rajesh alleged Kavita was first murdered and then her body was hanged.
