The control room told PTI that the fire broke out in the godown at about 9.30 pm and was spreading fast to nearby godowns in the compound.
The cause behind the fire is still not known and a major fire-fighting operation is underway.
Fire brigade sources said that besides fire engines from the powerloom town of Bhiwandi, fire engines from Kalyan and Ulhasnagar have been rushed to the spot.
It is immediately not known if the fire has caused any human casualty.
