Major fire breaks out in plastic factory

A massive fire broke out at a plastic factory at Dankuni in the Hooghly district today, fire officials said.
The fire, which broke out at the factory near Dankuni Toll Plaza at around 8.25 AM, quickly got spread and has engulfed mosts part of the factory.
It is suspected that an electrical short circuit caused the fire and presence of plastic granules, rolls of plastic films, machineries, huge number of paint containers added to the spreading of the blaze, the fire officials said.
As many as 21 fire engines have been pressed into service for dousing the fire.
