A delegation of ex-servicemen led by Lt Gen. (retd) Ganga Singh Rawat met Uttarakhand Governor Aziz Qureshi to demand that only former brigadiers or officers of corresponding rank in the Navy or Air Force be appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director of UPSKNL.
In a memorandum submitted to the governor, the members of the delegation also mentioned alleged irregularities in the functioning of UPSKNL.
People from a non-armed forces background fail to appreciate the problems faced by ex-servicemen, the memorandum further states.
The governor assured the group that he would look into the issues and take into consideration the suggestions made by them.
