Chrisanne Chin got a jolt when she saw blood oozing from her toe when the lights came on at the plush Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) in an upmarket shopping mall last week.
Chrisanne, who is also the Council of Churches of Malaysia Youth Head, felt a sharp jab on her toe and immediately cried out in pain as the movie she was watching came to an end.
"Rat bites are dangerous as their saliva or mucus are deadly, as lethal as their urine," said Chrisanne who reviews movies and TV programmes for an online portal.
"I think Malaysia is a huge growing market for film-going, and I believe that GSC must not look at profiteering but bear a corporate responsibility towards upholding public safety and health."
GSC has since publicly apologised on their Facebook page.
