"The state government is trying to export the mangoes grown in Malda to European countries," the chief minister told a public meeting here.
Himsagar is the best known variety of mangoes grown in the district.
"Malda so long depended on Bangladesh for the export of its mangoes but it has been facing major crisis recently following the increase in export duty," she said.
Banerjee also stressed on the uplift of farmers in the district.
