Mamata files nomination paper

Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee today filed her nomination papers for the West Bengal Assembly elections from Bhabanipur constituency in south Kolkata.
Accompanied by a large number of supporters, the West Bengal Chief Minister submitted her papers at the District Election Office in Alipore.
Later in the afternoon, Congress nominee and former union minister Deepa Dasmunsi and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grandnephew Chandra Kumar Bose of BJP - both of whom are pitted against Banerjee - also filed their nomination.
In the race from the high-profile constituency is a transgender Bobby Halder who has been fielded by Lok Janshakti Party.
