Brijraj Singh was cleaning his local powder licensed gun this morning at his home when it accidentally went off, killing him on the spot, said Abdul Sayeed, Assistant Sub Inspector, Dei Police station.
A case was lodged in this connection at Dei Police Station, he said.
The body was handed over to the family members after a post-mortem at Dei Government Hospital, the ASI said.
In a separate incident, constable Gopal Lal (45), posted at Sadar Police Station, was killed after an unidentified vehicle rammed into his motorbike on Devji Ka Thana linking road, SHO Hindoli police Station Gyanchand Meena said.
The constable was a resident of Jahajpur town of Bhilwada district and was posted at Sadar police station of Bundi city, the SHO said.
