Man arrested for attack on wife, injuring children

A 35-year-old man was arrested today for allegedly attacking his wife and inflicting injuries on his two children with a sharp weapon following a quarrel at a village in the district, police said.
S Muthukaruppan, working in Erode, during his visit to his house at Veeranendal a few days ago, asked his wife to come and stay with him. As she refused, he tried to attack her with a sharp weapon but his daughter and son, aged 10 and seven, intervened and he inflicted injuries on their hands, legs and face, police said.
Police arrested him following a complaint from his wife.

The injured children have been admitted to the government hospital, they said.
