The arrested was identified as Sompal, a resident of Bareilly.
ASP of STF in Lucknow Triveni Singh said that besides Sompal, one Nigerian national, another Indian youth and a woman were involved in the cheating case.
The STF officer said that the gang would pick its target from Facebook and offer to do business with him.
"Using the name of a US medicine company, they used to contact traders. One gang member has been arrested. Other gang members will be arrested," the officer said.
However, he became suspicious as he did not hear anything from the gang members after he submitted the amount and filed a complaint.
