A man was arrested for allegedly killing his sister-in-law over some petty issue at Iswarpur village in Jajpur district today, police said.

The accused picked up a quarrel with his sister-in-law (wife of elder brother) and hacked her to death in a fit of rage, said Jajpur Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Prasant Kumar Mallha.

He surrendered before local police along with the weapon used in the crime, the SDPO said.

On the basis of FIR filed by the family members of the deceased, police registered a murder case and seized the body for post mortem, he added.
