Man arrested for molesting girl in a private bus

A 35-year-old man was arrested today for allegedly trying to molest a fellow passenger in a moving bus, police said.
The accused Maheswar Pandey was arrested and a case slapped against him for outraging the modesty of the girl after she occupied the seat beside him in the bus plying from Khurda, Inspector In-Charge of Mahila Police station, Sarojini Nayak said.
After objecting to the man's action, the girl who had boarded the bus from Pitapalli area sent SMS from her mobile phone to her relatives as well as police about it before getting down of the bus much before her destination.

She also called her relatives and police after getting down of the bus at Baramunda, police said adding that the girl then reached Master Canteen station before the bus terminated there.
Police personnel had also reached there following the information given by the girl.
As soon as the bus reached its destination, the waiting police team arrested Pandey when he alighted from the vehicle.
