Hanson Joseph Lobo, an executive with a share-trading firm, was arrested from his house in Virar in neighbouring Palghar district and produced before a court here which remanded him in police custody till August 10.
Senior police inspector Deepak Phatangare of Malvani police station said that Lobo had posted objectionable comments on the complainant's Facebook page earlier too.
The 28-year-old woman recently approached the police after a person unknown to her posted a vulgar and abusive comment on her profile picture.
He was booked under section 354(A) (sexual harassment) and 354 (D) (stalking) of IPC, apart from section 67 of the Information Technology Act (publishing obscene material in electronic form) .
Further probe is underway.
