According to police, the accused raped his minor daughter at their rented residence in Gangyal area when his wife had gone to a relative's residence for few days.
The girl along with her mother and other family members approached police and lodged the complaint against the father, who was arrested yesterday, they said.
According to the complaint, the victim's mother went to a relative's residence in Nagrota area on January 4.
The father, under the influence of liquor, allegedly raped his daughter, who later narrated the entire incident to her mother after she returned yesterday, police said.
The girl has been sent for medical examination, police said.
Meanwhile, in an another incident, a youth was arrested for raping a teenage girl in Kanachak area of Jammu yesterday, police said.
