Yogesh Yadav, a resident of Mohalla Balbhaddar Sarai, was arrested last night and produced in a local court today which remanded him in judicial custody.
The 17-year-old girl was sent for medical examination in local civil hospital yesterday and police registered a case of rape, criminal intimidation and under POCSO Act against the accused based on a complaint filed by her grandfather.
The complainant alleged that the engagement of the girl and Yogesh had been concretised on the condition that their marriage would be solemnised when she turns 18.
