On June 10, Mohd Shamsheer Khan, the accused, lured the girl who was going to the market to buy beef by promising to give her biscuits and chocolates.
He took her to his house near the beef shop and sexually assaulted her. The girl sustained bleeding injuries.
Khan then brought her back to the main road and left her near the shop, warning her not to disclose the incident and tell the parents instead that she met with an accident on the road, said assistant commissioner of police K Ashok Chakravarthi.
She was discharged after five days.
Khan was arrested today near Zoo Park. Police have filed a case under relevant sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012.
