The couple was picked up by a contingent of police yesterday from a wedding mandap, after a woman claiming to be the second wife of the accused, Prem Kumar, registered a case against him, SP Sadhna Goswami said.
Laxmi approached the police along with her three-year-old son and stated that she had married the accused in 2009.
The complainant said that the accused tortured her for dowry and had killed his first wife for the same reason, Goswami added.
