The man was attacked by the bear inside the thick jungle protected by the local community when he was passing through it on Wednesday last, the police said.
He called up his relatives over phone after the attack and was taken home by volunteers from the village.
He was admitted with multiple wounds, including on hisface, to local health facility for treatment, the police added.
