The victim, Intazar, brother-in-law of village head of Sikanderpur, was killed by miscreants yesterday, Senior Superintendent of Police B B Singh said.
Old enmity over panchayat elections is said to be the reason behind the murder, police said.
Police have registered a case against six persons in this regard. All the accused are absconding.
