The incident happened yesterday when the victim's neighbour Tippi entered the woman's house when she was alone and tried to rape her, police said.
Hearing the woman's screams, locals gathered at her house following which Tippi fled from the spot, police said, adding, the matter is being investigated.
Meanwhile, police have lodged a complaint in connection with a 16-year-old girl who has been allegedly kidnapped by four persons in the district.
The girl's father has accused Hakim, Rafiq, Sunil and Zarina of kidnapping his daughter, police said.
