Man booked for murdering his wife

A man has been booked for allegedly murdering his wife at Nainowal village of the district, police said today.
Kulwinder Singh, who had married Sarbjit Kaur about 10 years ago, allegedly killed his wife on their way to her paternal house last evening.
While they were supposedly on their way, Singh telephoned Gurdial Chand, father of Kaur, saying that their car had met with an accident near a culvert at Nainowal village.
Chand, along with his family members, rushed to the spot, police said, adding that when they reached the spot they found Kaur unconscious with several sharp-edged weapon marks on her body.

Kaur was immediately shifted to a hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
Kaur's father alleged that Singh had killed his daughter and lodged a complaint with police in this regard.
Police are trying to nab Singh, who managed to escape from the spot.
