Man booked for raping niece

A man was booked for allegedly
raping his niece here when she was 17-year-old, police said today.
The girl, now 21, in her complaint filed with Mapusa police station yesterday alleged that her maternal uncle raped her at his flat four years ago by luring her with a promise to buy a mobile handset, an officer of Mapusa Police Station said.
She said she was called by the accused to Panaji from her village Colvale.
A was lodged case under section 376 (rape), 342 (wrongful confinement) and 363 (kidnapping) of the IPC, relevant sections Goa Children's Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), the officer added.
The accused is at currently at large.
