set afire by his in-laws following a dispute, police said.
When Gajanan Shinde (35) went to take his wife at his in-laws' home in Ballari village under Patur taluka of the district on September 11, he had some quarrel with him.
Following the fight, Shinde's wife, father-in-law and four others allegedly set him on fire in which he sustained 40 per cent burns, the victim said in a police complaint filed on September 12.
Based on the complaint, offences were registered under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC against Shinde's wife Shashikala, his in-laws and others involved in the offence, police said, adding that further probe in the matter was on.
