Man charged over murder of Sikh waiter in 1998

A man has been charged with murdering a Sikh waiter over 15 years ago, local media reported.
46-year-old Ronnie Coulter appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court in connection with Surjit Singh Chhokar's death in Overtown, North Lanarkshire in 1998, the Daily Record said.
Chhokar, 32, was allegedly stabbed to death by Coutler.
Last month, judges gave prosecutors permission to retry Coulter over his fatal stabbing.
Coulter, who comes from Wishaw in North Lanarkshire made no plea or declaration and was released on bail.
He will appear in court again at a later date.
