Man commits suicide, lover in serious condition

A daily wage earner from Kerala was found dead, allegedly after consuming poison, and a woman in a serious condition with her wrist cut at a private lodge here today, police said.
The man, identified as Anilkumar, hailing from Sastankottai in Kerala was having an illicit relationship with a married woman of the same area which became an issue in their town, police said.
The woman's husband had lodged a 'missing' complaint in the station on May 10 and police were investigating the case, they said.
Both the woman and her paramour had left their town and gone to Karnataka and reached here on May 14 and were staying in a lodge in R S Puram, police said.

Since the couple did not come out for the last two days, the hotel management grew suspicious and informed police who broke open the door. They found the man dead while the woman has been admitted to hospital.
Police also recovered a letter written by the woman in Malayalam.
