Additional District Sessions Judge D K Garg also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the accused Deepak Kumar, holding him guilty under section 376 (rape) of the IPC here, while acquitting co-accused Praveen Saini due to lack of evidence.
According to Assistant District Government Council Mujammil Haider, the victim had gone to relieve herself when the two youths, Deepak and Praveen, came and picked her up and took her to a nearby place, where she was raped at Haiderpur village in Charthawal area in the district on January 15 last year.
The victim had in her statement before a magistrate alleged that she was gangraped by the two persons.
