The incident occurred at Lord Sanjivaraja Perumal temple, which is located atop the hill, yesterday. Going around it was very risky as the pathway is just about one feet wide and slippery.
The deceased has been identified as Arumugam, an auto- rickshaw driver.
An eye witness had yesterday captured the video of the incident and circulated it on social media.
The police and local forest department officials today retrieved the body, they said.
