Jayesh Nadkarni, a resident of suburban Andheri in Mumbai, was booked under section 420 of IPC (cheating) on the basis of a complaint filed by his wife Archana Balwanat Akhade (37) here last night, Assistant Sub-inspector at Kapurbawdi police station K B Patil said.
The complainant had met Nadkarni in 2009 and after a courtship they tied the knot in February this year. Nadkarni had told Archana that he was unmarried and worked with a private mobile firm in the USA, police said.
The accused had taken money from her on several occasions after meeting Archana at her residence, at suburban Bandra, at Fort in South Mumbai and near Ashapura temple here.
Efforts are on to nab Nadkarni, police said.
