The incident took place in Narkatiya village as lightning struck Upendra Singh (50) while he was going to attend to nature's call in a nearby field, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Sadar, M.N. Upadhyaya said.
Singh sustained burn injuries and died on the spot, he said, adding the body has been handed over to the family for last rites after carrying out autopsy.
