Man gets five years jail in bribery case

A special court today sentenced a talathi to five years of rigorous imprisonment in connection with a 2012 bribery case.
Kopargaon Court Judge R A Gaikwad awarded the sentence to Kishor Madhukar Gatkal, talathi of Saja-Loni village in Ahmednagar district to five years of rigorous imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs 25,000 on him.
On February 13 in 2012, Gatkal had been trapped by the officials of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for accepting a bribe of Rs 1,500 from a complainant for issuing land related documents to him, an ACB release said.
