A local court today convicted a murder accused to life imprisonment and imposed Rs 2000 as fine after finding him guilty in killing his wife and minor son six years ago, police said.
The Fast Track Court (FTC) IV judge Arun Kumar Jha passed the order convicting the accused, identified as Kanhaiya Kumar, to lifer and imposed a fine of Rs 2000 for murdering his wife Manka Devi and 18-month-old son Rakesh Kumar in Pulma village under the Akbarpur Police Station area on October 10, 2007.
Kumar took the step after his in-laws failed to meet his demand of a motorcycle and Rs 50,000 cash in dowry, police said.
