Man gets ten-year RI for attack

A court in Godhra has convicted a man for attempt to murder and sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment of ten years in a 2013 case.
In its ruling yesterday, the Additional Sessions court judge Harit Vora found Ramanbhai Patel guilty of attacking and injuring one Shankerbhai Patel, former Sarpanch of Orvad village, with a sharp weapon in January 2013 over some dispute.
According to prosecution, Shankarbhai lost his two fingers in the attack and also sustained injuries on his back, head and other parts.
The court also imposed fine of Rs 2000 on Patel.
