The incident took place last night at Odiapentha village under Narayanpatna police limits when three armed miscreants forcibly entered the house of Kamalu Miniaka and killed him on the spot with an axe, Pulai Miniaka, wife of the deceased said.
She said that about 10 ultras were waiting outside her house and after committing the crime, they all disappeared from the scene.
However, Superintendent of Police, Koraput, Avinash Kumar said that "normally the ultras do not kill anybody in their house.
"Rather they preferred to punish them in open field. They used to kill them by slitting their throats or by guns. Also no leaflets or posters were recovered from the spot," he said.
