The accused Shatrughan Layek, who was a resident of Chowka police station area of the district, was arrested on the basis of a case registered by the victim's father.
Layek, on a visit to his sister's place in Nargadih, took the girl in his lap and was going towards a nearby jungle when he was spotted by the girl's family members.
He was arrested after a case was registered in this regard, the SP added.
