Man held for impersonating IAS officer Shah Faesal

A man who would impersonate 2010 IAS topper Shah Faesal to get favours from officials of Jammu and Kashmir government was arrested by police today.
"Police had received information that for the last two months several officers of the state were receiving calls from a mobile number and the caller used to identify himself as Dr. Shah Faesal. He used ask for some favours from officers," a police spokesman said.
He said an FIR under section 66 IT Act was registered in police station Saddar and investigation started.
"During investigations the mobile number was traced to Showkat Ahamd Lone, a resident of Ganderbal district. He was arrested and the mobile phone was recovered from his possession," the spokesman said.
He said Lone confessed to impersonating as Faesal, an IAS officer presently posted as Assistant Commissioner in Pulwama district of the state, for extracting favours from government officials.
