According to DSP Sanjiv Vajpayee, one Rajkumar was arrested from the Anandpuri locality here for killing his 18-year-old daughter.
Police said that the girl had not committed suicide, as was initially suspected, but was killed by her father who was unhappy with her for being romantically involved with a youth without the family's approval.
The body of the girl, who used to work as a teacher, was found hanging from the ceiling inside her house on April 26 with the father having claimed that his daughter had committed suicide.
