The incident happened on Thursday evening when the victim (26) was returning home after collecting her son from school under Shrinagar police station limits, said Inspector N D Jadhav of Shrinagar police station.
The accused was stalking the woman and accosted her on road, he said.
"He held the hand of the woman and asked her to seat on his bike, which she refused," Jadhav said.
The woman called her husband who is working in a nearby firm and when the duo confronted the accused he allegedly threatened and abused them, police said.
The accused was booked under sections 354 (A)-1 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.
