Arun Kumar, along with his friends Mohammed Younus Pasha and Madhusudan, who were arrested by S R Nagar Police on charges of abducting and killing Chandrasekhar Goud, were produced before a local court which remanded them in 14 days' judicial custody, police said.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) V Satyanarayana, Kumar's sister Sandhya was married to Goud in 2007 in Chennai, and she divorced him after filing a harassment case.
"Due to this, Kumar bore a grudge against Goud and decided to eliminate him. He hatched a plan with his friends and offered them Rs 6 lakh," the DCP said.
On December 4, Kumar's friends entered Goud's house here and pressed a handkerchief drenched with spirit and methanol on his nose while he was asleep, due to which became unconscious.
Later, they photographed his body and sent it to Kumar, who posted it on a social networking site and forwarded it to his sister and others saying it was a "gift", the officer said.
